This is a busy time of the year for the nursery. We have started to make preparations for the festive season and the children are becoming more excited at the prospect of Christmas as time goes on.
The children have had a busy term and have been exploring many topics, among them pirates, space, rockets and castles and knights. Their enthusiasm for learning has been evident in their play and the work that they have produced. They had made a rocket from a large cardboard box, and that now has become a castle and is still providing the children with ideas for good imaginative play.
Nursery Garden
We would like to thank all the mums who worked so hard in our garden back in October. They made a huge difference and the garden is looking so much better. We are now ready for the next stage when, in the New Year, Gus Egan from Earth Calling will be working with us to develop the garden still further. He will be planting a willow tunnel and helping us to decide what we should be doing next. Many of the mums have asked if we need more help and I am sure we will be calling on assistance from any one who may have a spare half hour in the future. In the meantime, the children have been using the garden area to play in and have put up bird feeders and are keen to see which birds are feeding (if the squirrel will leave them alone!). Some children have also helped to plant daffodil bulbs with Mrs Bardai.
Christmas
We are starting to learn our Christmas songs in preparation for our nativity. We would like to invite parents to the nursery to watch us sing our songs and act out the Christmas story. This will be held in the nursery in the week from the 8th
|
12th December. Please add your name to the list on the notice board on your chosen day. Due to lack of space, we can only have 10 parents each day, and ask that only one adult per child attend. We will have tea/coffee and mince pies for you as well.
Nursery Parties
The nursery Christmas parties are to be held on:
Wednesday 17th December 1.00- 2.30pm
Thursday 18th December 9.30-11.00am.
These will be the last nursery days for each session.
Parents are invited to come to the party at 2.15pm (pm children) and 10.45 am (am children) to see our special visitor.
Christmas Fair 5th December 2008 4-6pm
We are having a Tombola stall at the Christmas Fair and would be
grateful for donations and help in running the stall on the day. Please
hand in donations of small gifts/toys for the stall to the nursery.
Thank you.
The nursery team wish to thank you for your continued support of the
nursery and to wish you all a very happy and restful festive break.
N.B. Nursery resumes on Monday 5th January 2009.
Best Wishes for a Peaceful New Year
