Welcome to Davidson's Mains Primary School

We aim to provide your children with a happy, stimulating and challenging environment in which their contribution to the school is valued. We expect children to be kind and helpful to each other, to develop high self-esteem and self-discipline. We encourage children to find pleasure in learning and playing together, to understand, respect and value the different cultures and backgrounds that enrich our school and its community.

We believe that we can best succeed in our aims when parents and the school work in close partnership. We encourage parental involvement in classes and throughout the school. Between us we have the most important job of educating your children; enhancing their academic and social skills, their physical development, their emotional and spiritual development and in preparing them for the future. For our part we will do all we can to ensure that your children receive a good education. As a parent or carer, you can ensure that your children get the maximum benefit from their education by involving yourself in and supporting their learning. You can also help by ensuring that your children get a good night’s rest and arrive on time for school each day.

The aims of the school are as follows:

ETHOS

To provide a welcoming, safe and caring environment in which each child’s uniqueness is valued, supported and respected.
To build and maintain effective partnerships in the school community and in the wider community.

LEARNING & TEACHING

To provide a wide and balanced range of learning experiences through which each child will develop their full potential as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible and respectful citizens, and effective contributors.

LEARNING FOR LIFE

To equip children with the life-long learning skills required to be proactive and successful in the 21st century.

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT

To ensure that the school’s promoted staff provide the highest quality of leadership and management and support for all. To improve the quality of educational experiences by providing a programme of continuing professional development for all staff.
